The work we do in Leicester
A diverse city of Victorian terraces in the inner ring, 1930s semis through the suburbs and post-war estates on the outer rim — every ward has its own door and window expectations.
Terraced streets make up a big share of our city work, and many share a narrow rear alley. We plan deliveries at the kerb and bring compact kit so neighbours are not blocked in. Suburban semis tend to need whole-house window sets, because their original timber frames have reached the end of their life.
The spec we fit most often in Leicester: Anthracite-grey on white flush 70 casements + matching anthracite Tenby composite door.
Bay-fronted Victorian terraces dominate Clarendon Park and Highfields; Edwardian villas wrap Stoneygate; the suburbs (Knighton, Evington, Aylestone) are largely 1920s–1950s semis with original timber frames now reaching end of life.
Many inner-Leicester terraces share a common scaffolding alley with restricted rear access — we plan kerbside drop-offs and use compact equipment so we don't block residents in.
Stoneygate, New Walk and Clarendon Park sit inside conservation areas; front-facing replacements must match sightlines, glazing bar arrangement and colour.
Before your Leicester survey
Across LE1 to LE5 we cover the inner terraces, the Victorian and Edwardian villas of Stoneygate and the 1930s streets of Knighton, Evington and Aylestone. Stoneygate, New Walk and Clarendon Park are conservation areas, so front windows there must keep their sightlines, glazing bars and colour. Because we are so close, a Leicester survey is often booked for the same week.
