Is a warped composite door under warranty?

Most quality-branded slabs carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty on warp. If yours is inside that period, go to the original installer first — most will replace under warranty.

Can you replace just the slab or does the whole door need to change in Hinckley?

Slab-only in most cases if the frame is sound. It brings the fitted cost down significantly — from around £749 rather than £1,099 for a full door.

Will a replacement composite warp again?

Not if you spec correctly — 48mm slab, solar-reflective paint layer, quality brand. We only fit doors rated for dark colours on any elevation.

How long does a replacement slab take to fit in LE10?

Typically a 2-hour visit once the replacement slab has arrived. Lead time on a bespoke colour is usually 10–14 working days.

Do you cover Hinckley and nearby Burbage & Barwell for warped composite?

Yes — we cover Hinckley (LE10) and the surrounding Burbage, Barwell, Earl Shilton, Stoke Golding villages at the same fixed pricing. Booked in within 7–14 days.

Warped Composite Door in Hinckley

A warped composite won't lock properly, seals draughts poorly and is a security weak point. It usually gets worse in successive summers as the paint film degrades further. Fitted and diagnosed by our own team across Hinckley (LE10) — never subcontracted.

48mm slabs and solar-reflective paint

A composite door that bows is a manufacturing tolerance issue, not user error. If yours is inside its warranty period contact the original installer first; if it's out of warranty, we fit a replacement slab (from £749) that carries our own 10-year guarantee.

Symptoms we hear from Hinckley customers

Visible bow across the width of the door when viewed from the side
Top or bottom corner sits proud of the frame
Multipoint won't engage on the top or bottom shootbolt
Draught at one corner even with the door 'closed'

How we fix it

We straight-edge the slab across width and height, note the elevation direction, and check whether the warp is within the manufacturer's tolerance (usually 8mm across the diagonal). Anything beyond that is a warranty claim or replacement. A quality-branded (Solidor, Endurance or Rockdoor equivalent) 48mm slab with solar-reflective paint layer, rated for dark colours on south-facing elevations. We fit into the existing frame where the frame is sound.

Only quality-branded slabs — no budget imports
48mm slabs with solar-reflective paint as standard for dark colours
Existing frame retained wherever it's structurally sound
Likely causes on Hinckley homes: Dark-coloured slab on a south-facing elevation exceeding manufacturer temperature tolerance; Manufacturing defect (rare) covered under original warranty.
