Why composite doors warp (and what stops it happening again)

Warped composite doors are almost always a dark-colour, south-facing combination. The slab absorbs solar heat, exceeds its temperature tolerance and bows across the width. If you're in Leicester (LE1–LE5) with this problem, we replace with a 48mm slab rated for dark colours on hot elevations.

How we fix it

We straight-edge the slab across width and height, note the elevation direction, and check whether the warp is within the manufacturer's tolerance (usually 8mm across the diagonal). Anything beyond that is a warranty claim or replacement. A quality-branded (Solidor, Endurance or Rockdoor equivalent) 48mm slab with solar-reflective paint layer, rated for dark colours on south-facing elevations. We fit into the existing frame where the frame is sound.
