Casement Windows in Loughborough

Hinges, sightlines and the details that age well

The casement jobs we take on around Loughborough (LE11–LE12) usually start with a stuck handle or a sash that has dropped enough to catch on the frame. Both are hinge problems rather than frame problems, and on a window under fifteen years old we will tell you so. Where the frame itself is tired, a new casement restores the operation and the seal in one visit.

How we specify casement windows here

An outer frame with a fixed light and one or more opening sashes hung on stainless friction stays. The stay is the part that decides how the window behaves in year ten, so we fit stays rated for the sash weight rather than the size band below it. Shootbolt locks engaging at multiple points up the leading edge, key locking handles as standard, and hinge protection on any sash large enough to be reached from a flat roof or bin store.

• Stainless friction stays sized to the sash weight, not the price band
• Escape hinges fitted where a room needs a means of escape opening
• Key locking handles and shootbolt locking on every opener
• Two identical sized casements can be a hundred pounds apart purely on opener count. We price the arrangement you actually use, and will tell you on survey which openers earn their place.
