Jet Black Doors & Windows
Maximum kerb appeal — when the architecture can carry it.
About Jet Black
Jet Black (RAL 9005) is the most graphic, highest-contrast finish in our range. It's a fantastic choice on Georgian-proportioned doors with brass furniture and on stark white render — and a poor choice on small upvc casements where it can look 'heavy' from the street.
We fit a lot of black composite doors in Stoneygate, Knighton and Great Glen where the door is large, framed by a porch or canopy, and the architecture can support a strong statement piece.
Choosing Jet Black — what to know
Best suited to
- Wide front doors with side-lights
- Georgian-style fronts
- Render houses with bold trim
Pairings
White or cream render, sandstone steps, bay trees. Looks weakest against busy brick mixes.
Hardware that works
Polished or aged brass for a classic look; brushed steel for contemporary; never bright chrome.
Pricing
Same price as white on composite doors. PVCu casements typically +£60–£90 per opening for solid black inside-and-out.
From our installers
Pure black absorbs more heat than any other finish. On south-facing elevations we recommend solar-control glass to manage internal solar gain — especially on French doors and bay windows.

Black frames in practice
Black gives the sharpest modern look, especially on render and pale brick. On a south facing elevation, some customers choose anthracite instead, because it looks almost as dark but stays a little cooler in strong sun.
Black is available on our composite doors from £1,099 fitted and on our windows from £450, with white or black inside.
